Self mastery with tea medicine -intuitive living

To gain knowledge and awaken our intuitive ability we require the use of the Buddhi. Buddhi is the higher aspect of the mind, the door-way to inner wisdom.

“The great sages of ancient times  designed sadhana practices like mudra, mantra, meditation, pranayama, yoga, pray, whirling and other rituals to help transcend the mind. As you move deeper into your buddhi practice, you will start to discover that your consciousness takes on a life of its own. You will begin to eagerly anticipate the time you have set aside for meditation”  -(Maya Tiwari)

The great thing about intuitive education is that there is no need for a  masters degree to awaken this intelligence, however a need for a sadhana practice is required. “Awakening the intuitive self comse easily when we make acts of kindness our first priority. For this we have got to take a break from our habitual, mundane activities and re-examine our individual purpose.”-Maya Tiwari.

Recently my favourite tea monk WU DE shared with his students a powerful affirmation “I am living towards mastery” And asked us the question “Do I live in a way that leads to my fulfilment? Am I working a practice that leads to self mastery?

This got me thinking even though for years I have being studying Ayurveda and Tea – I was being” educated” in it.  There is no doubt about it that through my academic studies I gained information that shaped and influenced my thinking. However I have also been blessed with the ‘wisdom path of the maternal’. I come from a lineage where women in my family showed immense strength and courage in preserving their culture, rituals and inner medicinal healing when they were forced to travel from their motherland to an unknown terrier in the south pacific.

IMG_9132ewb The teaching in all this is that working towards mastery has lead me to great teachers that have connected to the field of intuitive vibration- which is leading me in my own journey to self mastery. My self mastery begins with a bowl , hot water, leaves, seeds, bark and roots . Its so simple yet so profound. It might take time but when you master it ,you will truly know the meaning of being awaken. “When you work from your intuition, kindness overflows as compassion and care. When you work from kindness it strengthens intuition.

Less sunlight and more cloudy days means   cold , damp and heavy.

  • start your day with a great breakfast – nourishing oatmeal
  • now is the time where you can truly enjoy a cup of spicy chai.
  • spices for a winter chai – dry ginger, cinnamon, clove, black pepper, cardamon, turmeric, pippali, licorice,
  • herbs and spice that are warming and stimulating are fantastic
  • I prefer adding turmeric to my chai or in foods generally as during this time flu and colds are common – these ingredients are anti bacterial and may protect you from infections.
